1st ICWD/ 1er Congreso Internacional sobre Escritura y Sordera
The Universisty of Cadiz is delighted to host this first Congress in order to shed as much light as possible on the teaching of and research into sign language with regard to the development of writing and communication skills.
We at the UCA would like to point out that our university, among others, took part in the International ABC Project which was coordinated by the University of Freiburg in Germany. Shortly afterwards the U C A and the Royal Council for the Deaf signed an agreement of joint cooperation.
As a result, several teachers became involved in the Spanish National Confederation for the Deaf -SNCD- and the Linguistics Standards Centre for Sign Language.
The First ICWD will take place on the 15th, 16th and 17th of February 2017 at the University of Cadiz, University Campus in Jerez de la Frontera, thanks to the organising committee and a scientific committee made up of researchers and teaching professionals who represent all the ramifications involved in this area.
The speakers from different universities and institutions will talk to us about learning strategies, the relation between the sciences of language and education, cooperative learning methodologies, Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), all within the field of multiliteracy.
The teaching profession is invited to participate as speakers for 20 minutes, or in practical ” How to …” workshops, or in short 5 minute talks or with a poster.
The ICWD will publish the research results in papers under the aforementioned formats.
The abstracts of papers, workshops, short talks and posters which are selected will be included in the publication of the electronic ISBN version of the Minutes of the ICWD on this website once the event has concluded.
We look forward to your participation in this our first International Congress on Writing and Deafness where thanks to your cooperation we can make this a forum in which all of us may put forward, spread, collaborate and learn from our own teaching experiences.
And once again, Welcome!
